Melting Fiat - woods
the interior light on my fiat ulysse stopped working and on inspection it appeared that the overhead switch had overheated and partly melted losing the connection. Off I go to the Fiat dealer to get a new 1cm switch and surprise, one has to buy the whole planel, £65 sir!! The parts chap knew the price straight away as he had just ordered one in for another Ulysse...hmm.
Does anyone know if this is a common fault and when I get the new switch fitted if I replace the 6w bulbs with a lower wattage will the system run 'cooler'?
thanks

I don't know about that particular make, but interior lights are often 1. made of plastic
2. suffer from inadequate ventilation

In my experience, interior light are VERY prone to overheating and I tend to keep them on for as short a time as possible.
