I am going to replace the clutch on my 2000 406 HDi 90.
I am getting everything prepared, and have come to a hurdle in terms of identifying which gearbox I have. The alernatives (according my trusty Haynes) are BE3/5, BE4/5 and ML5T.
How do I reliably identify which one of these variants I have?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin.

Thanks for the reply. If it is the ML5T, then it appears that I need to fashion a tool to replicate the Peugeot special tool 0216K for 'securing the relese bearing to the clutch preesure plate' or at least getting my head under the car to check if the gearbox has the cut-out in the bell housing to allow the action to be done with a screwdriver....or that is at least what the Haynes manual states!

As far as I know your gearbox is a BE4R and doesn't need any funky special tools. You won't need a new flywheel either...
