Never mind two tone, anyone remember this monstrosity from the mid 90's?

The only advantage I could possibly see would be when you prang it. You could go down the breakers and buy a panel in whatever colour they had available, and guarantee it wouldn't look any less rubbish as a result! ;-)

I still see one of those regularly around the Farnborough - Fleet area, described as 'Harlequin' on the V5 IIRC.

Good call, I'd forgotten those. Absolutely hideous.

Re the multi coloured VWs, where did they all go?

Scrapped by embarrassed owners, perhaps?

Far better motor than you might imagine though, personally i quite like the look.

Any Smart. IIRC you can buy different coloured panels.

Oops, someone's beaten me to it.

Wasnt there a Ford Ka in two tone - either blue or black and silver, seen a few around. Ugly as sin mind.
The Audi Q7 comes in two tone with silver grey lower half and another colour over.

So to answer the OP - there is no last two-tone car, its ongoing.

Yes there was indeed a Ford Ka two tone special edition - very ugly in my opinion, but as a Ka owner, I shouldn't be saying bad things about them. ;-)

Doesn't the New Mini count as an ordinary car? A lot of them have two-tone paintwork - with the roof being a different colour - often white.

I would like to see a return of two-tone paintwork. While many fashions from the past, like white-wall tyres, wheel spats, vinyl roofs etc. are best forgotten, two tone paint often looked really nice.

Possibly a problem with a lot of modern cars is that the styling doesn't provide obvious division lines for a two-tone scheme.

Not quite mainstream, but I'm pretty sure that the Maybach luxo-barges are/were available as 2-tone. (Hasn't production stopped now?)

Does the Audi R8 count, with it's contrasting side-blade or whatever they call it?!

The very last Volvo 240's were two tone, Torslandia or something.

AE86 Corolla's were 2 tone and my mates 99 Shogun is blue over silver.

My Honda Legend coupe was two-tone silver\dark grey metallic. Of course, that was no 'ordinary' car.
At the same time my boss had a two-tone white/dark grey Maestro company car. They don't come much more ordinary than that.

There is a baby Lancia whose name escape me that is available in Europe and comes with a two-tone paint job. I see them around and about from time to time.

I had one of those on hire in Italy last year Dave, quite a perky wee thing. Mine wasn't two tone though. It was a sort of Digestive biscuit beige inside and out.

They've possibly phased the two-tone out now Humph, on Wikki the examples are all regular mono paint jobs.

They are cute though aren't they?

i like that car too though never remember seeing 2 tone ones
i did notice that all types of people were driving them, so no snobbery
the back lights always look like an afterthought to me
i assume its fiat 500 underneath

Guess so bb.The one I had came with a small but very willing petrol engine. Want to say 1200 from memory. It was just the ticket in and around Milan. Picked up well, handled neatly and was as comfortable as anything that size can be. I became quite fond of it.

My Dad had a 1985 Nissan Sunny that was a very fetching red over silver. Lovely (after a fashion), until the silver paint started to flake off the plastic bumpers.

Bugatti Veyron has 2-tone paint. Can't get much more ordinary than that!
