09 1.5 has my head gasket gone? - swiftly
I have a suzuki swift 1.5, last week on checking the oil their was a white creamy deposit on the dip stick, this is an 2009 model and has only done 3500 miles.
I suspect the cylinder head gasket. What to do?

Take it to dealers to be checked out, but if you do a lot of short journeys then it's probably just condensation. At least once a week, give it a good fast run of 30 mins or more.

The Swift has a 3 year warranty, but be aware that the Dealer will want an investigation fee to check out the vehicle.

I suspect as it's only done 3,500 miles, it'll be the short journeys and the oil isn't getting hot enough to burn off any moisture in it. As said, take it for a good run every now and again. If mainly used to get to and from work, to and from the shops, to and from seeing grandma down the road, etc, consider changing your route and go the long way round a couple of times a week.

Every car I have ever had has suffered from this just after a few weeks of me owning it. It is just condensation from small journeys. When the weather gets warmer I shall clean out the breathers which should help but on a brand new car they should not be blocked.

As longs as you're not using coolant or oil there is probably nothing to worry about. What colour is the oil in the dipstick?

Also if you are doing lots of short journeys get the oil changed every 6 months especialy if you intend to keep this car a long time.

Is it losing any water?

I would be suprised if there is anything wrong with this car. These a great little engines and will take a lot of abuse without falling out of bed.
I would recommend changing oil and filter every 6 months/6 thousand miles to keep it all sweet (timing chain engines like regular fresh oil). Properly serviced this engine will give you many years of excellent performance.
I like suzukis, generally good motors but the spare parts prices can give you a shock sometimes!
