It kind of makes you wonder why gritters throw all the grit out the back when it would seem more logical to chuck some out the front too. Gritter I saw here was having no such trouble and was racing around like a mad thing.

Saw a program on tv not long back at the salt mines in wales i think trucks just parked up waiting for grit loads of them the machine underground packed in causing long delays.
So if they get there delivery of salt late maybe they do try to make up time.
Wonder how much salt is left in the mines? how many more years i mean?

Our gritters turn and go backwards on tricky bits and slopes.

Slightly off topic, but I got temporarily stuck last night on an uphill section of the Lincolnshire Wolds. It had me worried for a bit until I got going again.
