The comment on the F1 thread reminded me that I wanted to go and have a look at the Donnington Museum... as I have a week off I though I'd go this week, but the website is offline... Does anyone know if its still open or if its having the same problems as the track?

Is there no-one in that area at all?!
After 90 views and no comments I shall take that as a No, then!

I know nothing about it but Google is your friend.
Article is 3/4 weeks old but some contacts / info here.

Sorry folks, I thought I'd said, their website is offline and the phone number given doesn't even ring. I know where it is, but don't fancy driving up and finding its closed, so I was wondering if anyone actually knew if it was still open?

There is some info here which looks as if it is up to date.

Overall, it seems very sad for Donington

I visited this museum a few times over the decades. The Brabham fan car and the 6 wheel Tyrell were amazing.
As per the recent news stories, the whole circuit operation has gone bust. I presume this includes the GP museum? No idea who actually owned the exhibits and hope the collection is not dispersed. Interested parties in negotiation was the most hopeful story on local radio last week.
The above Wikipedia article has a link to a short video of the collection .

Thanks Derfel, I'd seen that page (thats where I got the links) but missed that sentance in the description! Ah well, never mind!
"As of 27/11/2009, in the wake of the death of Tom Wheatcroft and Donington Ventures Leisure Limited entering administration, the Donington Grand Prix Exhibition was 'Closed Until Further Notice'." For those who also missed it!

The donnigton museum is possibly one of the finest F1 collections around (as it not a single marque but has many teams / manufacturers in its display)
As such it should be classed as a nationla treasure and rehomed elsewhere. Silverstone for the next 17 years would be good.,

What a shame, I was there in May, my second visit. A great place. I believe that many of the cars were on loan, no doubt their owners being friends of Tom Wheatcroft.
