02 2.5 Heater takes a long time to get warm - Jack114
Hi

My heater seems slow getting to temperature. (can sometimes take 20 miles)
The dial indicates a maximum of just under 1/2 (eventually)

Any ideas why so slow

hi it sounds like your engines thermostat is stuck open. if the thermostat sticks open the coolant will just keep circulating around the engine and radiator hence why it takes an age to heat up. i had a 99 2.5 tdi voyager and the thermostat was around 20 quid from chrysler.

Is the temp gauge showing normal temp running before 20 miles?

You may have a sticking thermostat which you just replace or crud in the heater matrix restricting flow, more info required if you want help please.

if the cabin heater running? you have a diesel cabin heater that runs to worm up the coolant as the CRD takes a long time to worm up on it's own.
NOTE: the cabin heater may not run if you are low on fuel.
