Hello,
I have a 2002 VW Passat tdi estate.
The light in the rear luggage compartment does not come on.
There is no switch like the door lights, so I presume the bulb has failed.
Does anyone know how to get to it?
I guess you just lever out the light and it is a push fit, but any advice would be helpful.

Could be a failed bulb,but I would suspect the micro switch has failed.It is in the tailgate latch assy.hth

It has some sort of electric touchpad release.
Is the micro switch part of this?
Do you know if dismantling is an easy DIY job?

The rear lense is removed with a hooked puller. You locate it in the centre of the front edge of the lense and pull backwards and the lense flexes and unclips itself. Regards Perter

if its not the bulb i would say its the microswitch. its prob easier to just buy a second hand latch. does it say luggage campartment open on the dash display?
