My BiL owns a C2 and even though he has only done just under 25K his clutch needs replacing. The Citreon dealership he bought it from has quoted £700. Does any BR have suggestions for a good independant Citreon specialist garage in the NW,W,SW of London.
Thanks on his behalf.

Is there nothing listed in HJs "Good Garage" section on here?

You could try Mr Clutch they have outlets in Kingston and Hayes (2 year warranty on their work.) When I had our Picasso, I found the main dealer Bollingmores in Sunbury refreshingly competent and helpful so you could see if they could better the price.

He is not driving resting his foot on the clutch pedal is he?
The clutch should last for a lot greater mileage than that.

Thats what I asked him. He said no, its a common low mileage wear out on the C2. Probably lighter, cheaper metals/alloys involved. I couldn't believe it myself either.

Haven't lived there for 5 years, but Traffic Garage in Walton Street, Walton on the Hill near Tadworth in Surrey always played very fair by us.

Done loads of Citroen clutches over the years... not a C2 though. I can say the last thing you want is a cheap job. If you think of Mr Clutch or any similar fast fit outfit make 100% they will fit genuine Citroen parts (and show you the boxes to prove) and inspect their branch you'd use... and think very carefully about them.
I haven't looked at the HJ good garages guide but that may throw something up.
I can give you one guy at Hitchin. Rob Moss of Chevronics. Citroen enthusiast first and garage second.
01462 455280 . Tell him a fellow Citroen Club member from his early days sent you.
Whatever he quotes don't use anyone cheaper.

£700 sounds pretty steep.
The man I use is versatile, but I think his garage has a Citroen logo among others. I have a high regard for his honesty and ability. He's in North Kensington quite near where I live. I'll let you know his name if you want.

Bollingmores in Woking have always given me good service. In fact just today they changed an electric window switch on the C8. It took them 10 minutes, and so they charged for only 10 mins labour (i.e. 1 sixth of their hourly rate) - many main dealers would charge in 30 or 60 min blocks.
If you want an indie SW of London, Paul Murphy in Wokingham is good - he used to work for the Citroen dealer in Goldhawk Road, Shepherds Bush (which for years now has been an Allied Carpets). His courtesy cars have ranged from 35 year old swb canvas roof Land Rovers to a Jag XJ!

Closed down now, I'm afraid.

Cheers for the replies guys, I've passed them on for him to digest. And yes, it was £700 quoted at a Citreon dealership in Brentford. Apparently the engine needs removing, so majority of the bill will be labour.
