Just looked at the Skoda website. Who was it done by? a one eyed colour blind 10yr old?
Golly gosh, I'd have thought a better job could have been done. There is nothing there to make you want to explore further (IMHO)

You've made me laugh with this observation tack! I've been looking on there too and I guess you're right. Not very glam and exciting is it? I guess I was too engrossed in checking specs etc to think about it. I suppose it could be said though that overdone websites and advertising in general can rather insult the intelligence, and can be an equal turn off. I rather like one of the yoghurt ads on the telly at the moment that tells you the product comes in 'handy single pots'. well, that's a relief, all these years I've had to open one and share it out whether the kids want it or not.... honestly, they must think we're stupid. So, a little simplicity and basic presentation from Skoda isn't perhaps all bad. Like their cars.

Just had a flick through it and quite liked it.
Nowt so queer as folk!!

It's a pretty poor website IMHO, don't like the colours used either . Incidentally I'm colourblind too, though both eyes present and I'm 31 not 10. I do find the original posting somewhat controversially worded. Do you want us to wait for a one-eyed colourblind person aged 10 to come along and ask their opinion?

I see the Superb estate is fitted with "defused interior lights" - what happens when they get a short circuit then?
Also, I noticed the cars pitch and dive on the website like a Toyota Carina E.
Other than that I actually liked the layout too :-)

All car maker websites I have looked at have been bad with too many Flash animations and fancy effects and delays to go with them. I hate those 'car configurators', or the ones that ask for all your details and phone numbers before you download a PDF of the brochure.

Can't see much wrong with it.

It looks fine to me - reasonably informative, and at least it works, unlike the Briskoda forum which has ben out for several days.
Weren't they happy days when one never heard the word 'server'!

I like it. It loads qucikly, its clean and not over cluttered, and it grabs your attetntion for a while. Stuff is logically laid out and easy to find.
And that Octavia is turning into rather a handsome and suave looking beast.

It is, and you'd have liked one. But they hold their value too well and you wouldn't have got a 2007 Octavia for the price you paid for the Lancer. You'll just have to be Lancelot rather than Octavian.

but perhaps the Lancer has a full compliment of airbags and ESP as standard ? sorry, I know Skoda make some great cars - my in-laws have them (Octavia, Superb and Fabia), just a personal 'hobby horse' - cars with low list prices which miss significant (albeit only in my opinion) kit - the 'Ryanair' business model perhaps ?
Euro NCAP comments on the lack of standard ESC and curtain airbag fitment on the Octavia II, however it seems ESC is standard in other EU countries so perhaps our market just doesn't demand it ?
Anyhow, back to topic - website isn't the best from my experience.

You pays your money and takes your choice - I ordered mine with side airbags but don't see the need for ESP.
Have driven over 300k miles in the last 10 years with ESP equiped cars and have NEVER seen it operate.
Back to topic - I like the scrap car on the belt - wonder if the sleighster will be back for Xmas!
