Hi All,
Assuming no incidents etc can anyone give me an idea what the delays are likely to be travelling north around 6:30 to 7:00pm this Friday please?

20-30 mins until past the M4, maybe?
M5 northbound never that bad, it's southbound at Bristol that all hell breaks loose.

Ok, ta. I'll give it a go. Its just that if I diverted far enough back i could get on the M4 further east (north of Bath). Bit of a pain but worth if Avonmouth is bad!!

I would imagine it could be worse, as IIRC some kids are on holiday this week, which means everyone will be heading back from Devon/Cornwall - even in october.
Where are you starting your journey and ending it?

I will be in the Avonmouth area around 6:30 to 7:00 in the evening.

I understand the queues occur northbound towards the contraflow before the Avonmouth Bridge, so if you're starting in Avonmouth going northbound it'll be slow as there are roadworks up to Cribbs Causeway J17 but after that you should be ok.

About the only route which avoids the bridge is the road past Bristol Airport then the "ring road" - it is slower than staying on the Motorway.

Thanks all for the replies.
Options have changed a little as I am now going to be picking a daughter up from Bristol Templemeads so it will be M32/M4/M5 now, like it or not. Hopefully I will be joining the M5 nothbound after the worst of it!
Regards.
