Does anyone have any true life experience with this product. I understand the principles behind it and have always wondered why it has never been applied to cars before(metal boats have always had sacrificial anodes).
Does it work? Any replies may not use the word EcoTek...

Well, their company logo features a Dodge Viper. Which has a plastic bodyshell.....

Since the late 80s zinc coating has become the norm on car bodies. Some cars now come with 12 year anti-corrosion warranties. As a result, cars are now going to the scrap yard looking in remarkable condition, but because of their age they are worth less than the cost of replacing a defunct ABS module or engine ECU. Thus, making the body last & last & last will not necessarily extend the life of your car.
I've a feeling I've heard of this kind of thing before and believe that it does work. I'll contact some vehicle electronics wizards I know to see if they have a view.

Hmm well I read the details and it is based on the use of sacrifical aluminium which corrodes instaed of the steel.
Maybe fine for steel structures - bridges, oil platforms etc..but cars are very different. ALL modern cars include large quantities of aluminium already in suspension arms, alternators, pumps and engines. IF the principle does work then there is every reason why these should not corrode as well. So you could save your steel body and lose much of your engine:-)
Frankly having looked at new cars even Ford Fiestas.. not much steel left to rust that is not galvanised, covered in PVC or wax treated. LOTS of bare aluminium.
I suggest the principle is downright dangerous in modern (European ) cars. As far as US cars are concerned they presumably follow the same build principles.
Personally I would not risk it.. the Law of Unintended Consequences may apply here (not to mention your body warranty.. even Ford offer 6 years now)..

FORD.Without intermediate body inspections which is a lot more than most other makers.
