Congestion charge NIP - on holiday when delivered - maz64
Stepson just got back from 2 week holiday abroad to find a London Congestion Charge NIP waiting for him, and the 2 week £60 payment option expired 2 days ago ie. he now has to pay £120.

Does the fact that he was away when it was delivered mean he can still pay £60?

He could return it with the £60 and the air ticket to prove he was out of the country, they may well accept that. Regards Peter

Thanks Peter. In fact when I got home I discovered that stepson had used initiative and rung the charge people, who told him that if he sent a photocopy of the page in his passport showing the stamp of the country he visited along with £60 he would be ok.

Cheers

Many countries do not stamp your passport. Regards Peter

Lucky that he got a stamp then - if he'd been in the EU or USA then no stamp.

Thailand - presumably he's got a stamp otherwise he'd still be annoyed.

Confirm you get a stamp in thailand, Square on entry and triangular on departure
