Citroen claim you can get a second SIM card from the mobile phone supplier and fit it in the on board card holder but Vodaphone state that they do not supply a second SIM card. What does one do to use the installed phone ?

I had this with Volvo's system for integrated GSM telephony too. Mobile operators no longer appear willing to offer a free second sim, or even at cost.

The solution is to have a second SIM (buy a cheapo PAYG from Tesco or whatever) and divert calls to it if required. A bit of a pain, but it worked for me.

Orange will provide second SIMs, but only to business users. Quite a few cars have this type of in-car phone set-up - one can only assume that European mobile phone operators are more amenable.

Vodafone do (or at least did) supply the second SIM for car phones like this. You need to remember to dial a number to activate whichever phone you want to use.

Check divert costs!

I use Orange pay monthly and divert to an Orange PAYG SIM.

You can use *21*phonenumber# to activate and #21# to cancel. I assigned speed dials to the numbers to make it easy to divert to my C5.

The built in phone is very good.

The system in my Nissan is very user friendly. If your phone is in the car it automatically diverts to the car system. Once set up you don't have to do anything. If the engine's on, the phone will route through the car. If it's off it reverts to the handset.

Simple and convenient. Clever people those Geordies.

Humph (and apologies for a late reply - just back from holiday).

Your system in the Cashcow is probably a simple Bluetooth connection to the phone. Most are. The C5 Navpack is a phone in the car requiring a SIM of its own.

Apologies if you had to get a duplicate SIM for the new Nissan.

Change to T-Mobile. With the MultiSIM service they'll give you up to 3 SIMs free of charge.
