The plastic key tags a dealer uses to identify keys to stock. You know the ones, large enough to write on and colour coded.
Does the colour mean anything? Eg does a RED tag mean stock has been lying around some time and extra effort should be made to sell. Does a green tag mean good stock so no discount?
Any pros shed some light on this?
thanks

Nothing as in-depth as that I'm afraid... It could be as simple as different colours for different departments at the dealers - ie yellow for used, blue for new, green for service. It's much more likely though that there is no "system" to it at all, and the tag attached to any given set of keys is simply the first one the dealer grabbed out of the drawer...

Red means it's been on loan to the dealer principle's mistress, and may have underwear in the glove box. Not to be lent to the dealer's wife.
Green mean the dealer's wife has been using it, but OK to lend to the mistress.

More likely it's what Staples had in stock that week!!
