the only Rovers worth buying are the lonely strays sold by Battersea dogs home.
I'll get me coat.

they did still have a brandnew 75 a little while ago. There was also a new showroom model in a dealer in barbados. 226 delivery miles. been standing for 5 years!

I'll be surprised if somebody hasn't been collecting any "new" Rovers, stripping them down and selling them for parts. The body panels on an untouched car (even if sat in a field for 5 years) must be getting sought after now.

>>..and selling them for parts>>
As far as I'm aware there's no shortage of parts for Rovers.
The Rover 75 (IIRC the ones built at Cowley are the better ones) is an excellent vehicle and owners always speak highly of them.

The reason for my question is that i have seen a few city rovers (the one from India) which are 3 years old

When the balloon went up there was hundreds of them stuck at Avonmouth because Rover hadnt paid for them, TATA didnt want them back owing to the fact they couldnt sell them anywhere else other than the UK so ownership was disputed. Price- Waterhouse, Rover Group`s receivers became the "owners" and disposed of them through the trade. The fact you have seen 3 year old examples shows how long they took to sell and find the way into the market.
