Octavia 4x4 comes with 15" wheels on 205/60 tyres. Is there any point in fitting the optional 16" wheels?

No there is not. If you want to round the race track a little quicker fine, for normal use it make the ride worse

I agree, low profile tyres may look nice but they give an awful ride.
