Hi,

Hopefully somebody will be able to help.

I have a 2002 BMW 316SE with 191K on the clock. Recently it's yellow oil warning light has started to come on, either while I'm driving and the engine is warm or as I switch off the ignition. I know she's using a little bit of oil but it seems like the light is coming on every one to two weeks after I check the levels and top up with oil (Mobil 10/40 Semi Synthetic).

Anyone have any ideas?

The yellow light is a oil level warning light.Either not enough or too much oil.Always check the dipstick with car on level ground and after at least 10 mins of switching off engine.It is also possible that the oil sump sensor is faulty if the level checks out ok.hth
