97 2.0TD Not idling on cold startup - early
After the glow plug light goes off, turn the key and the engine fies up. Unless I keep the foot on the throttle, it wont maintain idle and dies.Sometimes this is followed by a 2sec buzzing sound from the dash or just inside the engine bay. Next 10 startups are the same. If I keep my foot down and take it for a 300m spin around the block it starts up fine.

Seams to happen when the first startup is in the morn. Afternoon starts are fine. Probably no more than 5 deg difference in ambient temp (ie early Autumn with no frost) Battery is good, fuel from shell, fuel filter and all belts are 9 months old. Engine oil and filter 2000mls old.

Any help much appreciated.
