Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - 99 1.3 Roof bar fitting confusion

99 1.3 Roof bar fitting confusion - Ka tastrophy
Hello

I've removed a pair of Ford roof bars from an old Ka prior to it being scrapped. I'm trying to fit them to mine but am having problems.

They are the genuine Ford bars and everywhere I look they say they fit ALL Ka's, but when I peel back the rubber roof trim to look for the little screw holes to attach the roof bars there aren't any. Surely I don't have to screw holes into the roof, and even then there wouldn't be a thread. Very odd.

I guess they just don't fit my ka, unless I've got some weird factory one off that doesn't have the holes fitted?

Is it possible that there are plastic protection "bungs" in the screw holes?There were in my Mondeo.hth
