SEAT Ibiza II (1993 - 1999) - 05 1.4 insp light on dash display..can i turn off

05 1.4 insp light on dash display..can i turn off - steveo3002
just aquired a 05 ibiza 1400 thats been serviced at a non main dealer , the dash is displaying insp for a few mins after start up

can this be turned off manualy with no special tools?

According to a google search:

ignition on
press and hold trip button
ignition off
ignition on
release trip button (service should remain lit on the display)
turn trip button to the right

Have you got the handbook? It tells you how to do it in that, which I know because three times the SEAT dealer servicng daughter's Ibiza has failed to reset it so it comes on shortly after being serviced.
I can't look and tell you at the moment as the car isn't here.

From memory it's pretty simple (there's too many steps above).
Something like:
Hold the trip computer reset button in with the ignition off then turn it on whilst still holding the button in.
Three dashes should appear to show it's reset. Then release the button.
