I am just about to buy this Vectra and the only thing I can find wrong is that the LED display for the mileage is very dim and hard to see....is this a difficult job to do and could I fix it myself?-------or could it have been messed about with to hide the true miles???

Give the plastic clock cover a good bang ! Its a very common problem ( Loose fitting bulbs ) If that doesn't work, its an easy fix to remove the clocks and replace the bulb. Try any Vauxhall owners site and do a search - good luck.

Thanks...back to basics then!!

Here's the how2 for doing the job.

You'll need a 12 volt 1.2 watt capless bulb. Some people fit an equivalent type LED instead.
As per the how2, DON'T switch the ignition on with the speedo assembly disconnected, or else you'll be paying to have the airbag light reset.

On my lovely green Vectra the mileage display went dim for about 6 months then suddenly came back to life when I's pyched myself up to follow the instructions in DD's link.
