Hallo,
Any views on what a 1998 Micra 1.3 Si,, with 3 doors and 35k miles on the clock is worth.
My mate's dad is selling it, I'm interested, and we both want to ensure a fair price.
It has a full service history - and my mate, who has been driving it, has never experienced any problems with it. The family has owned it from new. It has the odd scratch, but nothing major, and all appears in good nick. There is a touch of rust on the cross bar under the radiator though.
Appreciate any thoughts!
Thanks,
J

This is a common problem mentioned in HJ's Car-byCar.
A dealer would probably price such a car at between £1,250 and £1,400-ish with the larger engine (most on sale are one-litre models), although one or two dealers seem to demand somewhat more..:-)

If it's as good as you say £800 if it's got power steering and the front crossmembers just surface rusted.

My grandad had one of these, brilliant engine (140k) but had lots of rust issues and every MOT time it had failures like you would expect on a 15 year old Fiesta. His was a K reg (New shape) 1.3 SLX which ironicaly had no electric windows.

That would make it around six years older than the one in question; I'm puzzled though by the words New Shape.

My grandad died in 2005 so it was about the same age as this one.
By new shape I mean the bubble shape Micra which was introduced in 1992, the same type mentioned here.
