I've found out why the council repaired the road - alfatrike
just came back home this morning to find signs saying 'Tour of Britain, Expect Delays'.
i had wondered why they had filled in the holes, cleaned up the rubbish and cut the hedges.
it's a shame it takes being on TV to get the work done.
