I remember year ago a few local dealers advertised on the radio that they had a party to collect your new car on the stroke of midnight. Does anyone still do this or did the easy credit years put new cars so easily in the reach of the man in the street that it lost it's novelty?

I saw my first 59 plate today at 8.15 am. It was a Skoda Superb stuck on the side of the A3 with its bonnet up, having just had an engine fire extinguished by the fire brigade.

In a rush to get cars ready it wouldn't surprise me if the dealer forgot to take out transit packaging from under the bonnet.
I've seen quite a few, but I have passed Audi, Jaguar, Ford, VW and Vauxhall dealers this morning!

i had a brand new nissan note a few yrs ago and smelled burning after 15mins and it was charred paper in the engine bay. very poor pdi

Just seen '59 Audi A4 estate having its rear bumper hit by a Focus driver of advanced years. Left them on the side of the road having an 'intense' conversation!

I didn't see a 59 plate all day until about 1530. Since then, I've seen about six of 'em. Weirdly, three of them have been Mazda 2s.

A Kymco 125 motorbike on 'L' plates parked in Durham City.
Looked quite smart, even if some of the castings/pressings are not up to Japanese standards.
Don't suppose the price is up to Japanese standards, either.
Decent first motorised transport for somebody and I hope the lad - or lass - enjoys it.
On the road, I saw a Toyota Aygo which really looked the part in metallic blue.

Mine was a BMW 3 series parked in the local multistorey at about 15,30.
Funnily enough was the first time have seen a new issue plate on the day of release for a couple of years- has taken upto a week before.

the first half of 2010 will have a 10 on the number plate and in september it will change to 61 2011 will be 11 and then 61 etc etc

How unusual - normally its the Audi drivers that tailgate!
