Driving license reminder - Mick Snutz
Wow. Just had a reminder that my photocard license will expire in September.

I had already obtained a D1 form from the post office on HJ's recommendation on a previous thread.
I didn't think DVLA sent out reminders though, let alone the actual application form?

(actually I'm more amazed my post has been delivered before 1pm!)

According to the DVLA booklet INS57P, sending a reminder is normal practice. You'll probably get a copy of this booklet with your new licence. Is your licence 10 years old or is there another reason that renewal is required?

Posties don't like working Saturday afternoons any more than anybody else.

My post is on the doormat pronto on a Saturday and I'm sure that's the reason.

It's probably the same as with road tax though, ie the reminder is only a courtesy so not receiving it is no defence if you forget to renew.
Posties don't like working Saturday afternoons any more than anybody else.


Seems to be true, post is allways early here on a saturday but can be as late as 5pm during the week.
