01 1.9 Replaced serp belt. Now slipping. - Stewart_2004
Hey,

Ive been having problems with my 1.9 Citreon Berlingo van the serp belt has been squeeling for quite sometime so today I decided to change the belt. I have the modle with automatic adjuster and power steering with no air con. I got the belt fitted fine. checked it all over turned the engine over but hand to make sure the belt was ok and it was. Went to start the van and the belt started to slide off and then it stopped so now the belt is half on half off. I re fitted it and it did it again. The van runs but why does the belt keep slipping ?

Any help would be great.

I am glad you are sorted, at minimal cost, but what is a SERP belt? Is it one I could wear to hold my beer belly in/up :-} ?

>>but what is a SERP belt?

Serpentine? Meaning it's long and snakes all over the place.

The belt is like the fan belt or auxilery belt It runs things like power steering air con pump altinator.
