03 1.2 dodgy fuel pump - mehmi

Help needed,

I have a 1.2l 5 door 03 plate micra that has decided it will only fill with 10litres of fuel, sometimes it only will fill up with 3l!!
Nissan dealer has quoted £400 to replace a sensor? Seems a bit steep. Any advice??
