Spent an enjoyable hour today looking at an xj6.
96,P plate showing 80k with FJSH,from an independant jag dealer.
But why was the sunroof lip rusting in 3 places?
My M plate Citroen AX has no rust anywhere!
(Yes i know half of it is plastic!)
The jag also had a frayed drivers seatbelt.
I came away unimpressed, is this normal for such a fine looking brit luxobarge?

Well, I am old fashioned, but to me this is good! We reckoned that Jags were built for the first owner, who would have a new one presently, certainly before rhree years were out. For the price of a Bentley one could have three and throw them all away!

Admittedly the machinery was reckoned to last for ever, but that was with the marvellous XK engine and the rather agricultural Moss box. ( do not mean "agricultural" in any adverse sense, I first drove at 10/11 years old on a Fordson tracror frigged so you did not have to stop to swap cogs - which I took advantage of without dumping the hay!).

I love my Toad, but I might swap, subject to a good home for him, for a C/D/XKSS. Fat chance.
