I've rented cars in Europe a few times. I haven't used (or even heard of!) the firm you ask about, but I've used Europcar (good) Hertz (excellent) Budget (OK). I think you get what you pay for - always had new or almost new cars with Hertz and no trumped up extras.
I think you need to be wary of low prices that could be hiked up with all sorts of extras (insurance) or alleged damage to the vehicle.

I look at www.travelsupermarket.com and find a cheap car there. As I write I have just got home from a day in Germany where I paid £45 for a day's hire of a Group B (Mini Economy Car), booked with Budget thro Holiday Autos and was a given 118 Diesel BMW! I was expecting a Ka, of a Corsa or a VW Fox or Polo. It was a great suprise but I didn't much care for the car. I have also got prices from Car Hire 3000 but never found them competitive. Stick with a name you know or have at least heard of!

I've used Holiday Autos several times-always been efficient--they've used(for me)Natonal,Avis,Europcar and other companies.

Last year we went on holiday to Spain with friends, they rented through Hertz and got a nasty Octavia with aircon that didn't work and we went with Auto Europe and got a brand new Picasso. Auto Europe seemed to be the best value at the time, and were quite a bit cheaper than the bigger operators.

I have had very good experiences in Spain with Crown Auriga. Only problem is that they charge you for a full tank of fuel and you bring it back empty. This is a big faff if you are on a 3 day hire ie you lose money, there is no refund. There used to be a take it full, bring it back full option Ie Normal, but I think it has now ceased.

using Hertz or other major names is probably the easiest option but I have found that renting form a small local operator and doing the deal when I arrive in the resort you can save a great deal of money and often get better service. Depends very much what you want. If you just want a car to potter around the local area I would give the big boys a miss

Do not use sixt! Every time I used them I have had problems. Last time I nearly missed a flight home because they found a tiny plastic fitting that had broken in the boot and wanted to charge me

Tend to use Hertz, never had any problems with deposit losses etc. Stick to the main brands who may have a reputation to protect. It would be nice if they gave some choice of the car you will get, last time in Spain ended up with a Dacia van like thing which was not a lot of fun to drive. Watch out for handovers in dark underground car parks!! (Palma anyone) where you didnt spot the scape down the wing.

Usually rent via Holiday Autos or Carrentals.co.uk. I end up roughly what I expected from Sixt or Budget. I have annual CDW cover for £90 which includes either of two main drivers and two secondary drivers.

It's often the best deal to book from here in advance. We did it in Italy in 1969 and we did it in Spain a couple of years ago. It was with an outfit whose name I forget, but they were Germans, the Punto was almost new and perfect, they weren't picky - I said I had graunched a wheel trim but they didn't mind - and we got a discount through friends who live locally and often use and recommend them.
Avis and Hertz and the other big names quote prices that make your hair stand on end. For business or expense-account users and the very rich only.

Can be in peak season but off peak the hire companies tend or have a surplus of car standing idle. A little haggling on the spot can work wonders I find.

For the US I've used netflights and carhire3000, have usually had a car from Dollar with no problems. Just back from the US where 21 days car hire cost me £417 for a Dodge Charger, with all insurances, with carhire3000. (I actually kept the car an additional day which was relatively expensive, so be careful of that).
In fact, I already had the same car booked with netflights for nearly £100 more, same deal. I then found the carhire3000 site, which quoted me about £50 below netflights price. I got the quote mailed to me, but when I didn't take it up right away they called me and made the £417 off, so it was worth paying the £50 cancellation with netflights.
