Help finding my perfect car for £1200 - astonbull
Like many people I am trying to find the perfect car. This car will be a workhorse, A motorway cruiser, a great sunday morning blaster, a welcolme friend at the airport after a 20 hour flight. You get the idea, Now the catch, We have the usual sensible car which my wife will be using. I also have the expensive toy for the weekends so alough this car will be clocking up the most miles it will be the cheapy (£1200). I really would like an European car so here is my long shortlist so far.

Nissan Primera GT
Seat Ibiza, Leon or Toledo (Diesel)
pug 306 d turbo

Now any ideas or comments to confuse me more most welcolme.
Thank you

Edited the thread title to give it some meaning. "Confusion sollution please" means nothing to any of us - you need people to want to read your threads. Rob (Moderator)

A Ford Focus?

You can pick up an eary focus starting from just under £1000, so if you haggle a bit you should get a decent one for your £1200.

a beer and a bed for me please

Bell Boy, removed your incorrect use of quotes on the forum. The previous posts you reply to get indented with the >> at multiple levels. Your reply should not be indented but you added >>>>>>>>>> which means if someone then quotes all of your message you get some confusion. Rob

Gotta be a Mondeo for me at that sort of money. Cheap to buy, great to drive, reliable (my last one ran to 195K with no major mechanical problems) and wont cost a fortune to fix on the rare occassions when it goes wrong.

Out of the list you posted, the Primera is probably the best bet imho. My current car is a Primera, bought for a price within your budget despite being only six years old (but with over 130k on the clock). Has similar virtues to the Mondeo (I've had mine for two years and almost 20k without incident), but having lived with both, I personally consider the Mondeo the easier to live with. The Primera is a bit cumbersome in town, with the poor turning circle being a real pain.

Nonsense! Moonshine's car looks absolutely superb, for instance.
