I have a problem with this Micra.It runs very well but at times will cut out when you are stopped at traffic lights idling.I have checked spark plugs and their gaps,added redex and hammered it down the motorway where it went very well but now and again you can feel a surge.As soon as I got home and let it idle,after about a minute it starts idling eratically and then cuts out.Any advice on what to check next will be much appreciated.

There's a well documented problem on these with dry joints on soldered connections in the throttle body. Your symptoms seem to fit the bill.
