Michael Owen's Ferrari - Robin Reliant
Out of contract at Newcastle and only being offered a pay per game deal with Man United, the injury prone former England striker is down on his uppers and being forced to sell his motor. Anyone with £150,000 under the matress can snap this little beauty up -

Owen bought a £2m helicopter three years ago and last year began to rent it out to people wanting to attend race meetings and other events...:-)

He's also been using the chopper to get to training, with Nicky Butt as a passenger (he was paying a four figure sum a month towards Owen's fuel costs).

I doubt if Owen is quite on his uppers just yet - he's always seemed the sensible type and I'm sure that he will prove a surprise hit at United.

That alloy's been kerbed. He must have lent it to Ronaldo.

The seats remind me of those in a Focus Zetec - hope Ford are getting royalties.

And I take issue with the ad description which says the car belonged to 'an A-list celebrity'.

Michael Owen was a half-decent footballer in his day, but he is not, has never been, and will never be an A-list celebrity.

His personal fortune is currently estimated at around £40m - as I thought, not quite down on his uppers just yet...:-)

He's signed a two-year deal with United after the medical and starts full training from July 1st, so must be back in pretty good shape.

Perhaps the Ferrari is surplus to requirements as he lives in Cheshire?

The above link includes a pic of him driving to or from Man Utd's training ground today.

What is the make of car?

Met a client yesterday (nice attractive 35 year old female) with an Aston Vantage. I was rather disappointed to see the key fob and remote was the same as a Volvo.

The best remote is the Mercedes one, both in terms of style and performance.

I understand that he reads these threads and has decided to go for a Focus instead. He's not daft.

Clearly you are not taking the Michael...:-)

Ferrari or no Ferrari, United boss Ferguson may well have achieved a very astute bit of business.

What's more I speak as a Toffees fan (apparently the Goodison club were prepared to pay Owen £50k a week).

Probably just enough to have persuaded him to keep the Italian job?

I was quite surprised to see Man Utd hiring a horse trainer to work with Rooney. Reported elsewhere Owen has cost Newcastle £41m in fees and wages for starting 65 games and 30 goals over four and a half years.
