It was interesting to read that the company which owns Aston Martin were looking at getting into F1. Perhaps this new model will be the basis for their 2010 Le Mans entry?

Now now, that's just being facetious. What I wouldn't mind would be a tie-up with JLR, producing a more powerful version of the LR TDV8 engine (or even building a V12 version) and putting it in the Le Mans car. Audi did diesel at Le Mans very successfully...

I think its a great idea, because these cars will still be exclusive.

Goes against the whole idea of small, economical, city cars though doesn't it ?
Take a small eco car and load it to the gunwhales with cow hide, body kit and alloys pushing the emissions back up.
I notice Volvo are doing the same thing with the C30/S40/V50, take a DRIVe model and then stick big alloys and R-design body kit on which pushes the emissions back up to 119, I think it is, from 104.
What's the point of that ?

Well, for one thing - Gemima & Giles might be pursuaded to trade in their Chelsea tractor, which after all - is only used to ferry the bairns to skool + the bi-weekly sorte upon Waitrose - and still retain snob value via the Aston badge!
