20 1.2 warning lights - what do they mean? - Vorax
My Girlfriend's Punto has started coming up with three warning lights on startup - the yellow engine management light, the red temperature light and the red 'steering whee;' light (or whatever it's called. They stay illuminated for a few seconds after starting and then go out. They only started doing this the other day.

Does anyone know what this might mean? I've check the oil and coolant, and the levels are fine, and it seems to drive ok. Had a new engine management system fitted about 6 months ago.

AFAIR all the lights SHOULD come on when the key is turned, and go out quite quickly.

They don't normally show themselves on starting.

Consider a few things:

battery getting sufficiently spongy for the ECU to be upset with the voltage drop caused by turning the engine over.

or a poor electrical connection.
