Why so many VW Polos with damaged rear apron? - bathtub tom

Maybe they are prone to the exhaust mountings rusting away at the back of the mid section. They rust through and whilst the car is moving the rear section of the exhaust falls away - as it cannot drag along the ground it forces its way out - at the expense of the apron?
