99 1.9 turbo problems - after_burners
hi, i got a 1999 1.9 dti, when the tubro comes in there seems to be very lttle power gain. what i can hear is like a tutting noise, air escaping.

does anyone know what this might be please.

also the central locking does not work of the key.

ok i found the problem it was one of the lower pipes that had been rubbing on a pully.

ive fixed this but the car still seems to have little power? i often need to go into 1st gear to get up hills, esp when there are people in the car

have any one got any idea what i can do to increase the power please

Can you actually feel the boost coming on, probably at about 2,000 rpm? If not you may still have a leak somewhere. Did the power drop off suddenly or has it been gradually declining?

only had the car a few days, did have a vectra 1.7 td before which was a lot better performance.

i can feel no boost at all. ill take look for another leak.

ok i finally took the car to the garage and they have told me the turbo has seized.

does anyone know where i can get a cheap replacement?
