I can see a 50p saving on the wanli using www.tyre-shopper.co.uk (seems to be part of national - fitting is arranged at national)
they'll also do an avon for £44, yoko £46 or toyo £43 or uniroyal £49. All fitted

tyre-shopper.co.uk is indeed a part of National Tyres. (A former girlfriend works at their call centre here in Stockport)

I've recently been seeking quotations for a pair of:
Continental Sport Contact 3 (I don't think 2's are available anymore) 205/50/R1793W's
Prices are quite close:
£288 (MK);
£276 (Hampshire ? HJ's rec. place?!);
£270 (Rugby).
So, I either buy local and pay more or combine the purchase with either a trip to my brother's or a test-drive on that Jag in Basingstoke ? hah!
I'm sure that I spotted (ST/Business) that Continental were having cash-flow difficulties of late? Perhaps that'll bring prices down even further? I can afford to wait another month as it's now MOT'd and I'm still legal tread-wise...

In a recent Which tyre test Wanli came out as being terrible. They came bottom of the test, being very bad at wet grip.
Is saving a few pence really worth your life of someone else's?
|
Wouldnt touch Wanlis with a barge pole, wouldnt have them on any vehicle, far too scarey in the wet.
|
Sometimes I wonder why I leave an extra cars distance in front of me in wet - You have just reminded me it's for the people who buy cheap tyres
|
I leave more distance between me and the car behind! They may be on cheap tyres. :-)

I have tried a few different specs of tyre in the past and will always stick with good ones from now on, my old Mondeo has four Eagle F1's fitted now.
