I feel sorry for those poor customers with their new 'ragged' cars out there after this promotional advert
Kia's Soul Rock's - Mookfish
It says to the right of the vehicle " Actual test vehicles used during filming not sold to public."

So if your buying a new one it won't be one of these. If you buy an ex-demo it could be a different matter, I'm guessing these cars will be used either by Kia staff or as demonstrators, can't imagine they'd send them to the crusher.

Cars used strictly for test purposes are exempt from Car Tax/VAT.The Tax Authorities will require these to be paid if the vehicle is to continue in use or for them to be destroyed.

I saw my first Soul in the flesh yesterday - funky looking car, very different from the standard euroboxes around.

I'm not sure how the looks will last mind, it could go the way of the TT/New Beetle/PT Cruiser

I had one as a hire car, a couple of weeks ago, it was diesel not sure of engine size

Very nice to drive, although the interior was a bit ?plasticy? other than that it pulled well and I like the high up driving position.

Reminds me of watching them unload Peugeots from a cross-channel ferry years ago - the drivers were revving the nuts off them, parking them on the quayside then sprinting back to get another one. They must have been paid per car.
It would put me off buying a new one.......

I'm not sure this is a bad thing - we bought a new boat last year, and run-in instructions with the 115hp engine was to use maximum revs for 1 minute in 10, for the first few hours!

I think the problem is if you rev a new engine for long periods, which allows excessive heat creation due to the tightness of a new engine - a short fast burst helps it bed in properly
