Gerry Robinson's Car Crash, in which he takes a look under the bonnet of the british car industry. I don't know who Gerry Robinson is or that we still had a car industry worth looking under the bonnet of, but it could be interesting.

According to the TV guide it's 11:20, though as I'm in Wales the timing might be different. Anyone who has mssed it can still get it on iplayer.

Findings were the UK needs to accept we will never have a UK owned car industry again.

The failure of Matchbox cars is now being replicated on the full size models.

We should be concentrating on innovation, advanced manufacturing and the development of green vehicles.

Smiths vehicles were featured who convert Transit vans to run off batteries. If the public sector moved onto these vehicles it would be a real boost to UK manufacturing - but as yet there is no desire to do so.
