The outside lane of the (M1) motorway will be closed in both directions between J34 and 35 from Monday (01/06) until the end of August 2009.
This will be a 50mph limit and SPECS managed because I have seen them over the last few weeks, erecting the camera units and getting these road works ready.

Thread drift already! I drive a lot on roads with SPECS cameras. On the basis that they are infallible and thus can't make much money is it really worth installing them to cover 3 month's road works? Answer, they will probably leave them there when the works are finished. However, on the basis that there seems to be 90+% compliance with them why don't they just put up the gantries and some dummy cameras?

My brother is a firefighter; his "ground" covers part of the M25/M3.
He says that on roadworks where you've got properly enforced 50 mph limits, you're more likely to be cutting live bodies rather than dead ones out of cars involved in accidents...
