Car related death - Tron
Text in that BBC thread states: 'An inquest will be held to see how the accident happened'.

Dead (excuse the pun) easy that one - he failed to support the vehicle properly.

There you go, open & shut case and x £1000's of tax payers monies saved...

how do you know that?

maybe the ramps he bought were faulty? maybe they dont work very well in some circumstances

ive been underneath cars on ramps lots of times, ramps is the recommended way of doing it

now if he had been underneath a car held on only a scissor jack then yes open and shut case, but here maybe not

far better use of public money than say the national id card scheme, the nhs IT fiasco, eurofighter, leaflets through doors on flu, speed cameras, buying some banks, you name it

how do you know the type approved new axle stands didnt collapse
or his new concrete drive was substandardly laid on ashes

anyway i will leave that for the inquest
my main concern is even mechanics take short cuts and crawl underneath poorly supported cars ,so my gist was make sure you yourself dont become a statistic like this man and my neighbour of 30 years ago

No point speculating is there - no doubt evidence has been gathered and will be presented to the Coroner's Court. Nonetheless good and timely advice. Locking it now.
