I haven't looked at that site for some years. I note that now you can view some of the traffic cameras - now that can be handy, rather than relying on some person getting round to updating the text.

edit: although there seem to be far too many "camera unavailable"

The cameras can be handy for checking the traffic flow on the Forth Road Bridge if you are heading south to Edinburgh airport to catch a plane to somewhere hot and sunny.

A few months back I asked Traffic England if they could /would introduce a user option to display just the " warning" Roadside message signs as there is often so much clutter such as "take a break" "y min to jct n" amonst the real traffic info.

Answer "NO and in any case a new super version is coming."
Oh well I did ask

In the past I have found on their displays, non motorway roads lined with red or orange warning of delays which was most useful in selecting alternative routes.

My satnav does that, and plans the alternative.
