Think Cars! - movilogo
I am quite fed up of some motorcyclists' attitude!

They appear from nowhere in motorways - both from left and right sides.

The only time I see them when they zipped past me filtering lanes, then cut me suddenly and nanosecond later they are on different side.

I do ride bicycle myself but never drove a motorcycle and have no intention of doing so.

Somehow I feel driving motorcycles in motorways is sort of suicidal.

It is time when motorcyclists should be taught about "Think Cars".

Statistics say motorcyclists are 33 times more likely to be met with an accident - but I think in reality it is 500 times more!

Apologies if the post sounds controversial.

You think it's acceptable to illegally ride a pushbike on the pavement, but feel you can criticise other riders for what they do?
Think Cars! - movilogo
Did I not mention when there are very few (almost none when I ride in early morning) pedestrians?

I never ride bikes on pavements on town centre.

Doesn't matter when it is, its still illegal... pot and kettle....
Think Cars! - movilogo
Hmm, driving at 71 mph is also illegal.

And how legal it is to to claim 65p expense for a bath plug by the ministers?

;)

I'm not the one who's criticising other drivers whilst doing something just as bad though, am I! ;)

Often, especially when riding in a "pack", motorcyclists perform dangerous overtaking manoeuvres and expect car drivers to compensate for their illegal activities.
I've said this before, on another post. I find the attention and concentration that I have to apply to preventing these bikers killing themselves detracts from my concentration on driving in general and causes stress to me that can only affect my driving skills.

I think it is because big bikes are a bit boring to ride at legal speeds, that is why you will see riders winding them on away from the lights and zapping down country roads at 80/90mph. The idiots you see 'racing' along in packs have no sympathy from me either, they are bikers but not my sort of riders. In fact I have a lot more fun riding my 22bhp MZ 250 than I ever do riding my 110hp Suzuki 1200 Bandit because all of the engine performance has to be used to make progress and that is satisfying from a riders perspective.

I see them sometimes in Sussex and Surrey on summer weekends. They tend though to come in chains of three or four rather than packs. Apart from going fast, sometimes very fast, they seem to me to drive in a careful and aware manner, and to recognise care and awareness in other road users.

Some of the silliest bike-riding I have seen is going up Hartside, from Penrith to Alston - overtaking cars on a series of blind bends, narrow A-road, with cyclists in the traffic as well. stupid, IMHO.

Andrew,

Seconded, and it's the cutting in within an inch of my offside wing which annoys me the most.

Rider falls off and kills himself and I find myself staring down the same barrel as the guy in the 'it could happen to any of us' thread.

My message is not Think Cars or Think Bike, it's: "Kill yourself by all means, just don't drag me into it."

Exactly, ifithelps! (and several other posters). In my area we still get lunatic bikers but there seems to be fewerof them recently, perhaps due the unmarked police bikes or the death/serious injury toll. This morning as I waited to turn from a side road I watched a biker with passenger overtake a car through a narrow gap because of the on-coming van. I estimate the bike was doing at least 50 in a 30 limit and approaching an island about 100metres away. What was the point? It really makes my blood boil!
