Corolla Verso luggage cover - Hugh K
I am thinking of buying a Toyota Corolla Verso, but am slightly put off by the very fiddly arrangement of the luggage cover over the boot space. Has anyone got any ideas about an alternative DIY arrangement ?

You are right to be put off. My sister-in-law took delivery of a Corolla Verso as her company car back in March. The luggage cover arrangement is quite honestly a plie of pants. When my sister-in-law queried it, the dealer admiited that he wss less than impressed, but that the line from Toyota was that it needed to be that way because the rear seats can slide for-and-aft to create either more legroom, or a more boot space, so the cover needs to be able to adjust accordingly. As a rep, carrying a bootful of samples, my sister-in-law would prefer to have the rear seats slid forward to maximize boot space. Trouble is, with the seats fully forward, there is a gaping hole between the seatback and the rear wheel arch, through which the entire contents of the boot are fully visible from outside of the vehicle. It is also a handy hole for items to come flying out of during an emergency stop.
It's a shame that a company with the R&D budget of Toyota cannot put more thought into a simple thing like a luggage cover. The naffness of this one item spoils an otherwise excellent car.

Robbo,

Many thanks for your reply. I just wish I could think of a solution because I also think it is a super car in other respects.
