keep or replace mondeo - bigbro62
this for a friend, Jack drives about 30,000 miles a year, and has a mondeo 1.8 tdi pulls a large trailer, he has done 113,000 miles so far no major problems, he has 2 years left to do the same job, question would he be better to keep the mondeo, or buy a newer mondeo, or is there a better car out there for the job, his next car he would intend to keep after retirement,

I'm sure someone else will have some more comments, but I would suspect its best to keep it for a number of reasons:

- f he intends to keep the next car after retirement, why let it spend the next 2 years dragging a trailer?
- diesels go on for ever if looked after
- Mondeos are cheap & easy to fix, everyone can do it
- it ain't gonna depreciate much more!

Keep it 'til he retires, then buy a new one or indeed keep the Mondeo. Just make sure he has the cambelt changed regularly, which he must be doing already if he's covered that distance without problems.
