i thought it was a very good idea but dropped by the govt
if i remember it was hills the number plate makers that invented it
i also seem to remember it is in use in a far asia country
maybe hj"s territory as it is used to charge people on the intersections i believe
malaysia seems to ring a bell

Numberplates were yesterdays target. All available devices have now been fitted into refuse bins - to record if you slip an old kipper in the paper bin as an act of rebellion.
If so recorded it will likely be a baton thrashing frenzy at around 5AM.

It was originally slated for introduction this year, but I think advancements in ANPR and the added value of the images and behaviour it provides seem to have made total CCTV coverage the way they've decided to go.

Though I do wonder what is going happen with photographic evidence when the inevitible happens and it is proved in court that a picture has been altered.
