I've got a problem with persistent stalling at idle or very low speeds approaching junctions - once fully warmed up no problems
The local garage has put it through their diagnostic checker but found nothing wrong
any suggestions out there?

My intuitive thought is that something in the fuel has been deposited in the injectors reducing their capacity and preventing full fuelling for cold running. I would try some injector cleaner and a good blast using some revs, especially if the car has been run on cheap fuel and/or driven mainly in town and slowly.
Remember however that some people think injector cleaner is snake oil or harmful, while others insist that there are good and bad brands. So listen to diesel experts if you can find any.
A Czech I know who used to run an old London taxi in Prague swore by Redex (in homeopathic doses) which he said improved the idle. But that of course was not a modern diesel!

Hello!!
I too am experiencing same problem with my Mazda 6 (2004 reg, 2litre diesel). The engine stalls suddenly at traffic lights or when i am driving slow. The check engine light has come on. Really not sure why.
I need to go on a 400mile drive 2days later...authorised mazda garage in Aberdeen, Scotland says they have no time to look at it until week later or leave my car with them for few days and they will try to squeeze something in. But i do not have that much time.
Any ideas/suggestions would be a big help.
