Hi - I looked in the good garage list, and the closest 'good' garage to me is nearly an hour away. Does anybody have a good, cheap (credit crunch is hitting) garage for servicing of a Vauxhall Astra convertible? Thanks.

It is still 30 minutes away, but I always used Car & Commercial, in Devizes. Good service and very reasonable pricing. Were good for MOTs too. I used them for a few years when I lived in Devizes before I moved to Sussex.

Presuming Chippenham in Wiltshire ? Used to use the MOT Service Centre down Audley Road who were very good but tricky now as this building is now partly built flats. Have also used Lacock Garage and Chippenham Vehicle Services which are both up on Bumpers Farm, both have been OK. Then again, its more a question of conveniance as its only a 5 minute walk to both of these!

As promised - feedback about Car & Commercial in Devizes - very good. Full service, oil filter change, fuel filter, air filter, oil, labour, and welding my boot lid back on (don't ask) and a few other bits - for just over £200. All done in a day. Only slight moan was they didn't put the mirror back on as I asked on the phone when I booked it in, but that I guess was my fault as it wasn't on the worksheet when I picked it up, and so I should have checked it was on it when I dropped it off. Recommended. Thanks also for the recommendation about the garage in WB. I'll give them a ring.
