Evening,
The rear suspension on the car is very hard and when i go over any bumps it makes a awful clonk/bang.
The fronts are absolutley fine and perform as they should.
Any ideas?

Check the rear axle bushes, and see if the dampers are leaking or if you have a broken spring. Rear bump stops always seem to split into two parts, but I have never found this to be a problem.

Providing the Dampners are not leaking, Will the other bits you mention make the car a MOT failure?

Worn rear axle rubber bushes and/or a broken spring will fail the MOT. Rear bump stops split into two parts (they only last about 5000 miles before they separate) will pass. Worn rear axle rubber bushes cause rear end/wheel steering.
